What we do
We organise quarterly Regional Meetings of Cultural Professionals and their partners and supporters to develop and implement plans to develop and deliver services to introduce more people to cultural activities from more countries through collaboration and information sharing.
- The North East Cultural Diversity Arts Forum is a think tank of the best ideas for developing, supporting and sustaining culturally diverse arts in North East England.
- The Regional Meeting is a forum that meets 4 times a year whilst sub-groups maintain a year-round programme of planning and project delivery.
- The Regional Meeting is where member organisations and public agencies make decisions about the long term development of culturally diverse arts in our region.
We offer administrative support by appointment to artists and organisations e.g. for funding applications, business and development planning, organisational planning and budgeting.
- Contact NECDAF office for details
We initiate and manage research in support of development plans.
- Research projects include work to identify artists and encourage arts practice amongst refugees and asylum-seekers in North East England and plans for a project to assess the actual and potential contribution of culturally diverse arts to the region's economy.
We plan and raise funds for strategic development programmes. NECDAF is a strategic organisation and does not normally deliver projects itself. Forum member organisations and individuals are encouraged to bid to deliver projects as part of the agreed development strategy. Priority is given to proposals that require collaboration between organisations and different ethnic communities for their success. Additionally NECDAF approaches member organisations and invites them to deliver projects as its clients.
We promote artists and activities through this website, partnership project and through other networks.
We support members by disseminating information and maintaining a database of artists, groups and organisations.
